The six tools
Three build apps in your browser. One is a cloud IDE. Two work on code you keep on your own machine.
- Lovable Browser app builder
You describe the app in chat and it writes a React frontend, usually wired to Supabase. Deploys from the same screen.
- Bolt Browser app builder
Made by StackBlitz. It runs a full Node environment inside your browser tab, so you can see the app run while it's being written.
- v0 Browser app builder
Made by Vercel. Writes Next.js apps and deploys them to Vercel.
- Replit Cloud IDE with an agent
Replit Agent builds the app in a cloud workspace. Hosting and the database live on Replit too.
- Cursor Code editor
A fork of VS Code with an agent that edits files in your local repo. You handle hosting yourself.
- Claude Code Terminal agent
Anthropic's coding agent. It runs in your terminal and works on the repo you point it at.
